The Federation of Industries of Northern Greece and the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce will be hosting, on 4 - 5 June 2007 at the ΗΥΑΤΤ Regency Hotel in Thessaloniki, the:

11th THESSALONIKI FORUM
“GLOBAL MARKETS: Positioning of Thessaloniki and Northern Greece”

After a successful first decade, this two-day conference is already well established and widely recognised as a summit meeting of leading figures from the worlds of politics and business in the European Union and the international community.
The countries taking part in this year’s Forum will not be limited to this continent, for we are expecting extensive participation from the Middle and Far East (China, India, Emirates, etc.).

The goal of the 11th Thessaloniki Forum is to highlight selected realistic comparative advantages that Greece, and more particularly those that Northern Greece and Thessaloniki, can exploit in the global marketplace.

The areas that we will be focusing on are:
Α. Industry – Commerce
Β. Energy
C. Tourism
D. Innovation

Within this framework we will be endeavoring to identify and explore certain characteristics of these advantages, and specifically the positioning of Northern Greece and Thessaloniki as a major hub for the production and movement of goods and services.
There will also be an opportunity for the presentation of successful models that are already active in the area and can serve as examples for the optimum exploitation of the opportunities available.

We have invited eminent figures from international corporations that have already invested in Greece, or are planning to, so that a debate can take place on the advantages offered by Greece for corporations that wish to locate their HQ in N. Greece while expanding in neighbouring markets.
The addresses given by foreign guest speakers will be followed by presentations made by key local business people, for each sector. Ample time will also be allotted for questions and discussion.

This year yet again particular emphasis will be given to a multi-faceted analysis of the issues that are raised, and to the creation of a suitable framework for the dissemination and utilisation of the results of the Conference’s debates.

We will be contacting your office within the next few days for your acceptance in principle of our invitation. If you should wish further information, please contact Mr Adamantios Ladenis, Mandatory Counsellor of the Federation of Industries of Northern Greece (tel. 0030 2310 539817 ext. 106, fax. 0030 2310 541933, e-mail: ladenis@sbbe.gr).
